Trucking Cares Foundation Remembers John Lex
John Lex, America's Road Team Captain and professional driver for Walmart Transportation, passed away in January 2022 following a courageous battle with cancer.
John was an ambassador for trucking and embodied all that is good in this industry - faith, family, country, and an unwavering belief that hard work always rewards success. John was a 32-year veteran driver with 3.1 million accident free miles. He never quit, whether it was teaching students about highway safety, educating the President and public officials about our industry, or in fighting his own battle. He was unyielding, and he inspired us all.
We were blessed to welcome John at last October's MCE, honoring him with the 2021 Trucking Cares Foundation Premier Achievement Award. Upon receiving the reward, John expressed his love for the people of our industry, whom he considered his extended family. We'll always remember his infectious smile, endless positivity, and genuine kindness.
